Handbook of Shooting: The Sporting Shotgun, produced for the British Association for Shooting & Conservation and written by G. D. Turner, was published by Pelham Books. This copy is the 1984 reprint of the 1983 first publication.

The dust jacket illustrates game birds, a hare and a gundog alongside black and white photographs of shooting in the field, gun handling and dogs at work. The spine carries the title and publisher's name.

A flyleaf inscription reads "With our best wishes on your 50th Birthday. Anne & Ernest." dated 10.1.84.

The text pages are clean white stock with clear black print, illustrated with colour plates and line drawings. The dust jacket shows edge wear and some creasing, with a small mark to the front panel. The boards show light shelf wear at the corners and spine ends, with some separation visible at the top of the spine where the jacket meets the board.
