A memoir covering the author's life across Shropshire, Birmingham and beyond, with line drawings of local landmarks including the Wrekin, Tudor houses in Shrewsbury, and the General Hospital at Birmingham, along with a portrait plate of John Ash Esq.

The dust jacket is yellow with illustrated panels and is torn and chipped, particularly along the spine and at the top corners, with some loss to the paper. The spine panel shows further creasing and wear. The boards beneath appear to be red cloth, visible where the jacket has torn away. The text block edges and pages photographed show light age toning typical of the period. The copyright page confirms the 1950 first publication, printed by the Alcuin Press for Christopher Johnson Publishers Ltd.
