New International French-English and English-French Dictionary

£8.09

New International French-English and English-French Dictionary, published by Wilcox & Follett Co. of Chicago, 1945. With editorial contributions from Paul Passy and George Hempl, and a supplement of new words by Earle S. Randall.

The cover is cloth bound in a deep maroon shade, fading towards the spine and edges to a tan colour, with a small gilt leaf and stem motif on the front board. The spine carries gilt lettering, including "New International French Dictionary", "French-English English-French", "Completely Self Pronouncing", "Revised and Enlarged", and "Follett".

The copyright page lists earlier copyrights of 1903, 1904, 1931 and 1943 alongside the 1945 date. Internal pages shown are cream coloured with close-set two-column print, and the fore-edge has thumb-index notches cut for alphabetical navigation, with some staining visible around the notches.

The cloth is worn and frayed at the corners and along the spine ends, with the board edges showing bumping and some fraying of the cloth at the head and tail of the spine.
