Sunday Express' & 'Daily Express' cartoons - Giles.
Giles cartoon annual, the Thirty-seventh Series, collecting Sunday Express and Daily Express cartoons published by Express Newspapers in 1983. The front cover shows a crowded colour illustration of tourists outside a Museum of Egyptology, and the back cover continues the Egyptian theme with statues and small figures in costume. The introduction is by Sir John Betjeman, Poet Laureate, with a printed message and facsimile signature on the introduction page.
Inside, the paper is cream coloured and the cartoons are reproduced in black and white, each captioned with its original newspaper and date, such as the example from the Daily Express of August 3rd, 1982.
The paperback cover shows handling wear consistent with age, including a worn area to the upper left of the front cover where the title lettering sits. The spine and corners show some rubbing. The copyright page is clear and legible.
