Taken Care Of - Edith Sitwell

Taken Care Of is Edith Sitwell's autobiography, published by Hutchinson in 1965. The cover carries a striking photographic portrait of Sitwell, with the subtitle "Edith Sitwell's Autobiography" printed across the base. The spine is gold with black lettering, showing the title, author and Hutchinson imprint.

The copyright page confirms first publication in 1965, printed in Great Britain and bound by Wm. Brendon & Son Ltd of Tiptree, Essex.

Inside, the paper is cream-toned and the text is clearly printed, with a sample page shown including extracts of Sitwell's verse. The book shows general wear consistent with age, including some rubbing and marking to the cover surface and a worn edge visible along the top corner of the dust-jacketed cover. The page edges show a gilt top edge, now with some toning. The boards are firm beneath the covering.
