The Book of the Epic by H. A. Guerber, published by George G. Harrap & Co. Ltd., London, 1919. This is a survey of the world's great epics retold in story form, covering works including the Odyssey, the Song of Roland, and the Divine Comedy, with accompanying extracts of verse.

The book is bound in brown cloth with gilt lettering to the spine and blind-stamped decoration of columns and a laurel wreath to the spine and front board. The rear board is plain.

The title page carries the full title and publisher's imprint, with a small decorative illustration of a figure playing a harp. The book was printed at The Ballantyne Press, Colchester, London & Eton, as noted on the printer's page.

The spine cloth shows some rubbing and wear at the extremities, with a small split visible at the lower spine edge. The boards show light surface marking and scuffing. Internally, the text pages appear clean and legible, with cream-toned paper and some light age toning noted near the edges of a page.
