The Cheadle Collieries and Their Railways by Allan C. Baker, published by Trent Valley Publications in 1986. This is a softcover local history title describing the collieries of the Cheadle (Staffordshire) coalfield, together with their railways and locomotives.

The front cover is bright blue with black lettering and a line illustration of a colliery headgear and saddle tank locomotive. The back cover carries a circular black and white photograph of a locomotive and crew member on a blue background. The spine shows the title and author in black and white text.

The copyright page confirms the 1986 Trent Valley Publications edition and lists other works by the same author. Internally, the text pages are illustrated with black and white photographs of colliery headgear, locomotives and workers, printed on white paper.

The covers show light surface marking and a small amount of toning, with a slight curl to the spine edge visible when the book is stood upright.
