The Gurkhas, by Harold James, M.C. and Denis Sheil-Small, M.C., published by Macdonald & Co. (Publishers) Ltd in 1965, this being the second impression of January 1966, printed by Hazell Watson & Viney Ltd.

This hardback history covers the Gurkha regiments from the Siege of Delhi in 1857 onward, with a foreword by Lieut.-General Sir Francis Tuker and black and white photographic plates included within the text.

The dust jacket shows a cover illustration of a Gurkha soldier in uniform. The jacket has noticeable wear, with chipping and loss along the spine edges and corners, creasing, surface soiling, and small tears along the top and bottom edges. The spine panel of the jacket shows toning and a stain near the base. The book itself appears sound, with clean white page edges and no apparent damage to the boards beneath the jacket. The text pages shown are clear and legible, printed on white paper.
