The Naked Island - Russell Braddon

The Naked Island by Russell Braddon, published by Pan Books. This edition carries SBN 330 02169 9 and the copyright page states the 11th Printing, 1968.

The cover illustration, signed Tayler, shows a prisoner caught in searchlight glare with a bayonet raised beside him and a watchtower in the background. The back cover carries press quotations from Reynolds News, the Observer and the Star, along with period pricing details for various territories.

The spine shows wear at the head and tail, with some loss of colour and a small amount of fraying. The front cover has a crease and rubbing to the edges, and the corners show handling wear. Page edges have browned with age, consistent with the paper tone seen on the open pages inside, which are lightly tanned but clear and legible. The text block appears sound with no obvious tears to the pages shown.
