The Pictorial Encyclopedia of Fashion, published by Paul Hamlyn in 1968. The dustjacket shows a cover illustration of a woman in eighteenth-century dress on the front, with three further period portraits on the rear panel spanning different eras of fashion, and a Tudor-style portrait on the spine. The book carries a foreword credit visible on the inner flap and is noted as printed in Czechoslovakia, with Library of Congress Catalog Number 68-14771 shown on the copyright page.

Inside, the text is illustrated with black and white photographic plates, including reproductions of historical paintings with accompanying captions and descriptive text, set on white paper.

The dustjacket shows noticeable wear, with chipping and small losses at the spine ends and corners, rubbing to the edges, and a crease to the lower front corner. The text block edges show some foxing or spotting along the fore-edge. The spine panel and front cover retain bright lettering.
