The River Conway - 1952 First Edition, Dust Jacket - Wilson MacArthur
The River Conway by Wilson MacArthur, published by Cassell, first published 1952. Part of Cassell's River Series, this volume follows the course of the Welsh river from its source to the sea, illustrated throughout with black and white photographs.
The book is bound in red cloth boards and retains its original dust jacket, printed with a black and white photographic design of a wooded river scene beneath a yellow title panel. The jacket shows considerable wear, with chipping and loss at the spine ends and corners, exposing the cloth beneath, along with rubbing and surface marks across the covers. The spine panel is a little toned. The jacket's back flap carries publisher's notices for other titles in the series, and the front flap gives the original price of 12/6 net.
Internally the paper is lightly toned, consistent with its age, with clear black type and photographic plates.
