The Sportsman's Library x3 - The Shot Gun (Purdey), Partridge Shooting (Drought), Pheasant Shooting (Sprake) - Philip Allan 1930s - T. D. S. & J. A. Purdey; J. B. Drought; Leslie Sprake
This is a set of three volumes from Philip Allan's Sportsman's Library series, sold together as one lot: The Shot Gun by T. D. S. Purdey and Capt. J. A. Purdey, Partridge Shooting by Capt. J. B. Drought, and Pheasant Shooting by Leslie Sprake. All three carry the series title lettered on the front cover and spine, with Philip Allan's London address given on the title pages.
The bindings are uniform in red cloth with the same blind-stamped corner decoration on each cover, giving the set a matching appearance when stood together. There is some variation in tone across the spines, with one or two volumes showing a browner, more faded cast than the others, most noticeable on the Pheasant Shooting spine.
Condition is consistent with age and handling. The cloth shows fading and general wear to all three volumes, with spine ends frayed and bumped on at least two of them. There are no dust jackets present. The front and back covers show scattered marks and a few small stains, and the title pages are clean and legible.
Set of 3 volumes.
