Twelve Masters of English Prose
Twelve Masters of English Prose, with selections and introductions by Sidney Dark, published in London by George Newnes Limited. This is No. 10 in the "John o' London's Little Books" series, edited by John o' London. The front cover carries a silhouette illustration of London landmarks above the title, and the reverse lists the other titles in the series.
The book contains a printed introduction and illustrated portrait plates of the featured prose writers, including George Borrow and Charles Lamb, set alongside extracts of their prose.
Externally the boards show wear at the corners and spine ends, with some rubbing and loss to the paper covering, particularly at the top corners. The spine lettering remains legible. Internally the pages show light browning and scattered foxing spots, notably around the margins of the early leaves. The text block appears complete from the pages shown.
