A Bridge Too Far - Cornelius Ryan
A Bridge Too Far by Cornelius Ryan, published by Book Club Associates in 1975. This hardback account of the Arnhem campaign carries a 1974 copyright and was printed by Richard Clay (The Chaucer Press), Ltd, Bungay, Suffolk, as shown on the copyright page.
The dust jacket shows a cover illustration of a bombed bridge and ruined buildings, with the title in red and the author's name in cream lettering. The spine carries the same illustration and lettering. The back cover features a Pegasus emblem above an extract from a letter by Field Marshal B. L. Montgomery, set against a battle scene.
The jacket shows notable wear, with chipping, creasing and loss at the spine ends and corners, along with surface scuffing and a tear visible at the top edge. The text pages are cream in tone, and the book includes at least one black and white photographic plate, in this case an aerial reconnaissance photograph of Arnhem.
