A Horticultural Who Was Who by A. Simmonds, published by The Royal Horticultural Society in 1948. The foreword is by Lord Aberconway, and the book was printed in Great Britain at the Stanhope Press, Rochester, by Staples Press Limited. The dust jacket features line illustrations of a carnation (Mrs Sinkins), a viola (Maggie Mott) and an apple (James Grieve), with the back panel listing other RHS year book publications for 1948.

The dust jacket is heavily worn, with tanning, foxing spots, and chipped and torn edges at the spine ends and corners, along with some loss at the top edge. The spine panel of the jacket shows surface creasing and wear. The text block appears intact, with illustrated plates visible inside, including a photograph of an apple tree. The pages shown are clean in tone with some light spotting.
