A Life of Emily Brontë by Edward Chitham, published by Basil Blackwell in 1987, first edition. A hardback biography of the novelist, with a photographic moorland landscape on the dustjacket showing a stone gatepost and gate above the valley.

The dustjacket shows noticeable wear, including a tear and crease at the top corner, rubbing along the spine edges, and scuffing to the surface. The green boards beneath appear sound, with the title lettered in gilt on the spine. A price sticker and ISBN barcode label are present on the rear of the jacket.

Internally, the title page carries a library stamp and barcode from Wolverhampton Public Libraries, with a class number and invoice number noted. The text block appears clean on the pages photographed, printed on cream paper, with black and white plate illustrations including the font at Thornton, High Sunderland Hall, and Haworth parsonage.
