A Medal for Spangles

A Medal for Spangles is a Jack and Jill Book, number 16, illustrated in a cartoon style with a clown character named Spangles pictured on the front cover riding a tank. The story features circus characters including Larry the lion and a clown, told with colour illustrations and short passages of text.

The boards show general wear consistent with age, including surface marks and light staining to the front cover, and soiling to the rear cover. The spine has some wear at the head and tail. The endpapers carry a printed decorative pattern in pink with white line illustrations of storybook figures. The internal pages are bright with clear colour illustrations and legible text, and a colour plate shows the lion and clown characters together indoors.

Overall this is a well-used copy of a vintage children's annual-style title, showing handling wear to the covers but with the illustrations and text remaining clear.
