Around Historic Sussex - Gerald Lip
Around Historic Sussex is a collection of pen and ink drawings by Gerald Lip, depicting historic buildings and scenes across Sussex, first produced for a series in the Evening Argus newspaper. This is the third edition, published by Eagle Publishing Company, with a foreword by Terry Page, editor of the Brighton Evening Argus. The book pairs each illustration with a short piece of text describing the history of the building shown, covering locations including Battle, Chiddingly and Hurstpierpoint.
The hardback has a pale blue board cover with a cover illustration to the front and a further drawing to the rear. The spine carries the title and illustrator's name in black lettering. Internally, the paper is cream in tone, with clear black and white illustrations and text. The copyright page and title page are clean and legible, with a further drawing reproduced on the title page.
