Cobblers' Tale
Cobblers' Tale, published by J. W. Arrowsmith Ltd and printed by them at Small Street, Bristol. This is a company history of G. B. Britton & Sons, tracing its early days from a nineteenth-century partnership, and includes a reproduction of an early balance sheet alongside the printed text.
The covers are decorated with a repeating orange rope or twist motif on a cream ground, with the title lettered in dark type on the front board. The spine carries the same decoration and title.
Wear includes general soiling and spotting to the covers, with a darker mark towards the top corner of the front board and a small tear at the top of the spine area on the rear board. There is foxing visible on the endpapers, with a brownish discolouration to one leaf and lighter mirrored marking to the facing page. The text pages shown are clean cream stock with clear black print.
