Concise Encyclopaedia of Cats

The Concise Encyclopedia of Cats, a paperback reference guide covering over 340 breeds in full colour illustration, published by Octopus Books, with this edition first published in 1974.

The front cover features a colour illustration of an adult tabby cat with two kittens, along with a smaller image of a Himalayan-type cat at the top. The back cover carries a descriptive blurb outlining the book's 490 entries on cat care, history, breeds and health, with further illustrations including a bronze cat figure and a ginger cat. The spine shows the title against the green background.

The dedication page reads "This book is dedicated to Caesar who always knew it all, and to Machias and Mouser for their paws' worth," accompanied by an illustration of a black cat.

Internally, the paper is cream-toned with black and white photographs and colour illustrations alongside the text. Wear is consistent with an acceptable grade: handling marks and some rubbing to the covers, with creasing to the spine.
