Degas by Sandra Orienti, published by Thames and Hudson in 1969 as part of the Dolphin Art Books series. This softcover volume presents the life and work of the artist with eighty colour plates, translated from the Italian by Rosalind Hawkes and printed in Italy.

The cover features Degas's painting of cotton merchants, with the title and plate count set against a cream background. The spine shows the title and publisher's name along its length. The copyright page confirms the 1969 Thames and Hudson edition alongside Sadea Editore, Firenze. A number line reading 500 41032 1 appears on the copyright page.

Internally, the paper is cream-toned with colour plates reproduced on glossy stock, including portrait and ballet scenes.

The cover shows noticeable wear with soft creasing and rubbing to the edges and corners, along with general handling marks consistent with age. The spine shows some creasing. Overall this is a well-used reading copy.
