Doctor in the House - Richard Gordon

Doctor in the House by Richard Gordon, published by Michael Joseph. This is the twenty-first impression, dated June 1954, the book having first been published in March 1952.

The book is bound in black boards with yellow lettering to the spine, matching the dust jacket. The jacket itself carries the same black and yellow design, with a running figure illustration to the front cover and spine, and an extract from the text printed on the back panel.

The dust jacket shows notable wear, with a tear and loss at the top of the spine, a repaired split at the top of the front panel, and further creasing and small losses along the edges. The spine panel has toning. Internally, the paper is cream-coloured with black print, shown here open at a page of ordinary text. The copyright page lists the full run of impressions from 1952 to 1954.
