Dominique - Eugène Fromentin
Dominique by Eugène Fromentin, translated from the French by Edward Marsh, published by The Cresset Press, London, MCMXLVIII.
This is a hardback bound in dark blue-grey cloth, with the title gilt-lettered within a bordered panel on the front cover, flanked by decorative gilt tooling. The spine is plain cloth with gilt lettering at the head. The front board shows a faint mark near the base, and the rear board has a small pale spot. The spine cloth has a short split at the head, with the boards showing separation at that point, and the text block edges appear tanned.
Internally, the pages are cream-toned with clear black print. The text appears complete and legible on the pages shown, with no foxing or staining visible on the sampled leaves.
Overall a solid used copy of this Cresset Press edition, showing wear consistent with its age at the spine head.
