Encyclopedia of Pop, Rock and Soul by Irwin Stambler, published by St. Martin's Press / St. James Press, copyright 1974, first published in the UK and USA in 1975. A hardback reference work with a silver cover and bold orange lettering.

The copyright page carries a Dudley Public Libraries stamp and date slip, along with the SBN 900997-24-9. This is a withdrawn library copy.

The covers show heavy rubbing and wear, with cracking and splitting to the spine ends and corners, and noticeable creasing and small tears to the paper covering. The spine panel retains its orange and grey lettering, though worn at the head and tail. The front free endpaper shows discolouration and staining, with a strip of residue and a patch where a label or tape has been removed. Text pages are cream in tone, with clear, close-set print in double columns, as seen in the sample opening and the photograph section showing period band and artist portraits.
