A large-format hardback history of the motor car, illustrated throughout with colour photographs of vehicles including early Ford, Stanley Steamer, Bentley and Vauxhall models, alongside period advertisements and text covering the development of motoring. The front cover features a 1910 Ford Model T, with a Stanley Steamer pictured on the back cover.

The cover shows some wear at the extremities, with light rubbing to the spine ends and corners visible in the photographs. The spine panel remains legible with clear black lettering on a cream background. The copyright page is clean and easy to read. Internal pages photographed show glossy paper in good condition, with text and colour images well reproduced. A loose supplementary sheet relating to a separate card collection is visible tucked within the pages but does not form part of the book itself.
