James Herriot's Dog Stories - James Herriot

James Herriot's Dog Stories by James Herriot, a hardback collection of dog stories drawn from Herriot's Yorkshire vet books, with line illustrations by Victor Ambrus throughout the chapters and a photographic cover showing the author with two dogs on the Dales.

The book has its original dust jacket, showing light shelf wear at the corners and spine ends, with a small area of surface loss to the top corner of the front panel. The spine panel remains bright with clear black and red lettering on a pale ground. Page edges are cream-toned and show light foxing. Internally the paper is cream, with the text and pen illustrations printed clearly, as seen on the sample pages photographed. The boards beneath the jacket are firm and square, with no damage noted to the text block edges.
