Jim Starling Goes to Town - E. W. Hildick

Jim Starling Goes to Town by E. W. Hildick, published by the New English Library, first NEL edition October 1967. The book was originally published by Blond Educational Ltd in 1964 and reprinted in 1965. The cover illustration shows four children wearing rosettes and a striped scarf, with a "Free Jet Holiday Competition" badge at the top. Text illustrations inside are by Roger Payne, with a line drawing of a riverside scene on the back cover and period pricing in several currencies.

The paperback shows considerable wear consistent with its age. The spine is heavily creased and chipped along its length, with loss of colour and some whitening at the edges. The front cover has a small chip at the top edge and general rubbing. The copyright page has a tear at the top and scattered foxing marks. The text block pages shown are tanned with some spotting visible.
