John Soulby, printer, Ulverston by Michael Twyman is a study of the printed work produced by John Soulby, father and son, between 1796 and 1827, with an accompanying account of Ulverston by William Rollinson. It was published by the Museum of English Rural Life, University of Reading, in 1966, and printed by the Kynoch Press, Birmingham and London.

The paperback cover is illustrated with a collage of reproduced Soulby printed bills, notices and advertisements, with the title printed across the front in orange. The same collage design continues on the back cover. The spine carries the same newsprint-style pattern with the title in orange.

Internally, the copyright page is clean. The sample page shown has cream-toned paper with clear black text and reproduced illustrations of printed ephemera, including a post coach notice and a theatre bill.

The covers show some handling wear consistent with age, with light rubbing to the extremities.
