Memoirs of a Midget by Walter de la Mare, published by Penguin Books in 1955, in the orange and white banded cover typical of Penguin fiction titles of the period, with the Penguin device above "Complete Unabridged" on the front and the price 3/6 at lower right. The spine carries the Penguin number 1044. The rear cover gives a short biographical note on the author with a photograph credited to Mark Gerson. The copyright page confirms the novel was first published in 1921 and issued in Penguin Books in 1955, printed by Wyman & Sons.

The covers show noticeable wear, with creasing and rubbing to the edges and corners, a small chip at the head of the spine, and general toning and spotting to the cream panel. The text block has browned with age and shows some foxing to the page edges and margins, visible where the book is shown open.
