Merchant Ships: Newbuildings, edited by D T Hornsby, published jointly by Marinart Limited and Kogan Page Limited in 1977. This hardback reference volume lists merchant ship newbuildings of the period, with entries giving type, tonnage, dimensions, machinery, builders and owners for each vessel, illustrated on the cover with a line drawing of a cargo ship.

The copyright page records joint publication by Marinart Limited of Sandwich, Kent, and Kogan Page Limited of London, printed in Great Britain by Biddles of Guildford. Four ISBNs are listed, covering both hardback and paperback editions issued by each publisher.

The book is bound in red cloth boards with white lettering to the front cover and spine. The spine carries the Marinart anchor device and the Kogan Page imprint. The covers show some light surface marking and a couple of small scuffs, with wear visible at the spine ends and corners. The text pages are clean and legible, printed on white paper with entries arranged alphabetically by vessel name.
