MI6 - Nigel West
MI6: British Secret Intelligence Service Operations 1909-45, by Nigel West, published by Weidenfeld & Nicolson in 1983. A hardback in dust jacket, with the jacket's bold navy and red design showing some light surface marking and a crease near the lower corner of the front panel, along with minor rubbing at the spine ends.
The rear panel carries review quotations for the author's earlier book, A Matter of Trust: MI5 1945-72. The copyright page confirms first publication details and notes the book was printed by Butler & Tanner Ltd, Frome and London.
Internally, the paper is cream-coloured and the text appears clear, as seen in the photographed spread showing a reproduced service record. A newspaper clipping headed "Garbo, spy who fooled Hitler" is laid in loose at the front, alongside the remains of a price label on the front flap.
