Mockel's desert flower notebook - Henry R. Mockel and Beverly Mockel

Mockel's Desert Flower Notebook, by Henry R. Mockel and Beverly Mockel, published 1971. A softback guide to desert wildflowers, illustrated with the authors' own line drawings and colour plates, including identification sketches with botanical names and natural size markers.

The copyright page confirms the 1971 date, with previous copyrights listed from 1962 through 1970, and gives the Library of Congress Catalog Card Number 771-149336. It also states that the first edition of 5000 copies was published in 1971.

The cover is illustrated with a desert plant design in green against a pale, textured paper stock. There is noticeable toning and scattered foxing spots across the front cover, along with some surface creasing and rubbing, particularly near the edges and corners. The spine shows a little wear and a faint mark but remains legible, with the title printed vertically. The back cover is plain, with similar age toning and a few small marks. Internally, the sample page shown has clean text and a crisp botanical illustration.
