Motoring in the West of England - Charles G. Harper

Motoring in the West of England by Charles G. Harper, subtitled A Practical Handbook for Motor Tourists, published by Ed. J. Burrow & Co., Ltd. as Volume 6 of Burrow's R.A.C. Guides, issued under the auspices of the Royal Automobile Club. This is a paperback touring guide with maps and illustrations, featuring a cover illustration of a motoring party taking tea beside their car in a wooded lane.

The covers are soiled and stained in places, with discolouration to the front panel and a tear and marking near the spine head. The spine is cracked and worn, with chipping and splitting visible along its length, and the printed title lettering has faded in parts. The back cover carries an advertisement for the White Cross Motor Policy insurance scheme. Internally, the title page is clean and legible, showing the volume number and publisher details. A further page includes a printed illustration and route text, with the paper showing a light even tone. Period advertisements for hotels and garages appear towards the rear of the book.
