This hardback brings together Thomas Moule's nineteenth-century county maps, with decorative borders, crests, small engraved views of local buildings, and accompanying historical text for each county, such as the entry for Herefordshire shown with its map and coats of arms. The front and back covers both carry a reproduction of the Oxfordshire map and views, with the title set within a yellow panel.

The green cloth-effect boards are clean and the gilt lettering on the spine is clear and legible. Corners and edges show light shelf wear consistent with handling. The copyright page is plain and clear. The map plate shown is bright, with strong colour in the borders and crests and no foxing visible in the photographs.
