National Trust Atlas
National Trust Atlas, first published 1964, with the gazetteer copyright held by the National Trust. The book contains county maps printed by John Bartholomew & Son Ltd, each paired with a gazetteer listing places of historic, architectural and scenic interest across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, including entries for areas such as Merionethshire, Montgomeryshire and Kent. The endpapers and some interior pages carry pasted-in newspaper clippings relating to the National Trust.
The hardback has a green cloth-style finish with white lettering on the spine reading National Trust Atlas, and a plain green and grey cover with a small oak leaf and acorn motif. The dust jacket is pictorial, showing an aerial photograph of Dunster Castle and village, with a red and green title panel. The jacket shows considerable wear, with heavy rubbing, chipping and tears along the edges and corners, and loss at the spine ends. The spine covering is scuffed and worn with some loss of lettering. Internally the maps and gazetteer pages appear bright and clear, with the pasted clippings visible on several leaves.
