Out of Africa - Karen Blixen

Out of Africa by Karen Blixen, published by Penguin Books in 1954, number 913 in the series. This edition states it was first published in November 1937, with this Penguin printing dated 1954.

The cover has the classic Penguin cream and maroon banded design, with the author's name and title on the front and review quotes from the Daily Telegraph and the Observer. The back cover carries a short biographical note on Baroness Blixen. There is noticeable spotting and foxing to the front cover, particularly around the upper portion, and some surface marks and a small stain near the Penguin logo on the front. The spine shows heavy wear, with chipping and loss at the head and tail, and the maroon colour has faded towards the top. Corners are worn and softened. The text block edges have browned with age. Internally, the pages photographed show tanning consistent with the book's age, with clear, readable print.
