Picture Post Idols - Jon Savage

Picture Post Idols by Jon Savage is a photographic collection of stars of the forties and fifties, drawn from the work of leading photojournalists and portrait photographers, published by Tiger Books International in 1994 (first published in Great Britain in 1991 by Collins & Brown). The front cover is arranged in a grid of black and white and tinted portrait photographs, including Marlon Brando, Elizabeth Taylor, Elvis Presley, Marlene Dietrich, Vivien Leigh, Charlie Chaplin and others, with the title in orange and white against a black background. The back cover carries a black and white photograph of Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton in Limelight.

The hardback covers show light surface wear and some scuffing to the glossy finish, with a mark visible near the top right of the front cover. The spine is intact with clear white lettering on black. Internally, the sample opening shows clean white paper with clear black and white plate reproductions and captioned text.
