Poetry One: The Key of the Kingdom

Poetry One: The Key of the Kingdom is an anthology chosen by Raymond O'Malley and Denys Thompson, published by Chatto & Windus in 1961. The maroon cloth cover has a cream panel with the title in black, and a cream oval vignette showing a line drawing of a man asleep on a bench with a bird perched on his head. The spine carries the title and publisher initials in black on the maroon cloth.

Inside, the paper is cream-toned with an illustrated poem page shown, featuring line drawings of birds alongside the text, in clear black print. A blank leaf near the front carries a rectangular ink stamp reading "Wickford Essex County Education Secondary School".

The covers show some wear consistent with handling, and the rear board shows light spotting and a faint mark. The spine cloth is intact with legible lettering. The corners show gentle rubbing.
