Railway World Annual 1988, edited by Peter Johnson and published by Ian Allan Ltd, first published 1987. This hardback brings together a year's worth of railway features and photo spreads, covering subjects such as narrow gauge locomotives, travelling post offices, Merseyside electrics and preserved steam, alongside a quiz section towards the back. The front cover shows a preserved Great Western Railway 'City' class 4-4-0, No. 3440 City of Truro, on the turntable at Scarborough.

The cream card covers show general shelf wear, with some marking and discolouration visible, particularly to the front and rear panels. The spine is intact with clear black and red lettering on a white ground. Internally, the sample page opening shows clean white paper with black and white photographs and text in good register, along with a TPO network map.

Overall a well-presented copy showing the handling wear expected of a book of this age.
