Scramble: A Narrative History of the Battle of Britain by Norman Gelb. Published in hardback by Michael Joseph, London, 1986.

This is a compilation of first-hand accounts and testimony relating to the Battle of Britain, presented in narrative form with contributions attributed to named pilots and civilians.

The book has a black cloth binding with the title lettered in gold on the spine, and plain grey boards without a dust jacket visible. The spine lettering remains bright and legible. The covers are unmarked but show a little rubbing and a small mark to the lower edge of the rear board. The text pages are cream coloured and clear, set out with headed extracts and quotations. The page edges appear slightly toned, consistent with a book of this age.
