Severn Valley Stories by Wilfred Byford-Jones, published by Shropshire Star & Journal Ltd in 1967. This hardback collection of local stories and essays relates to the Severn Valley and Shropshire area, with chapters on places and figures such as Wycherley of Clive, the Powis and Herbert families, and Hodnet Hall, illustrated with black and white photographs.

The dust jacket shows a stylised landscape design in blue, green and cream with a silhouette figure, and is notably worn, with chipping and creasing along the spine ends and corners, surface marks and a tear visible on the rear panel edge. The spine carries a library shelf label reading S910. The title page bears a Shropshire County Library stamp and the shelf number S910/C, along with a handwritten accession note. Internally the paper shown is cream-toned with some scattered foxing and a brownish stain visible across a couple of pages. A black and white photograph of the author appears opposite the title page.
