The Children's Golden Treasure Book was published by Odhams Press Ltd in 1935 and edited by John R. Crossland and J. M. Parrish. It is a green cloth hardback with a colour illustration mounted to the front cover depicting a snail-shaped vessel with figures aboard, set against a cliff and rigging. The spine carries the title in gilt lettering above a printed image of a turbaned figure. The front cover also bears the line "Brimful of Joyous Entertainment" in gilt.

Inside, the book includes a decorative title page and black and white line illustrations alongside colour plates, printed on cream paper showing some light spotting. A handwritten inscription appears on the front free endpaper, reading "Xmas 1936 A Merry Xmas Best Love from Mummie xxx".

The cover cloth shows wear at the spine ends and corners, with some fraying to the head of the spine. The covers show fading and surface marking, and the rear board has a faint central crease line.
