The Illustrated Encyclopedia of Firearms by Ian V. Hogg, published by The Hamlyn Publishing Group, first published in 1978. A Quarto Book, produced by Quarto Publishing Limited. This is an A-Z reference covering military and civil firearms, with an illustrated cover showing a Luger pistol and a revolver.

The hardback retains its dust jacket, illustrated in colour with the title in blue and black lettering, and an author credit to Ian V. Hogg. The spine shows the title and publisher name, Hamlyn. There is some browning and staining visible to the top edge of the front cover, and light wear to the jacket edges. The back cover carries a photograph and a short list of the book's features. Internally, the sample page shown has cream paper with printed text and black and white photographs of firearms, including a De Lisle carbine, a Deringer pistol and a Dragunov rifle, laid out in a clear encyclopedia format.
