The M.C.C Book for the young cricketer

The M.C.C Book for the young cricketer, number three in the series, published by Naldrett Press of Baker Street, London. The book is bound in yellow cloth with red ruled borders and the MCC monogram blocked in red on the front board, with matching titling to the spine.

Inside, contents include contributor pieces such as "The First Overseas Tours" by H. S. Altham and a feature on playing-card cricket with an accompanying scoring chart, illustrated with black and white photographs and line drawings. The text pages appear clean and legible in the sample shown.

There is a handwritten ownership inscription, "R.L.May 1955", on the endpaper.

The spine cloth has faded to a lighter yellow compared with the boards. The rear board shows a darker patch or mark near the top corner and a couple of small surface pinpricks. Corners and edges show light wear consistent with handling and age.
