The National Trust book of the farm - Gillian Darley
The National Trust Book of the Farm by Gillian Darley, with photographs by Pamla Toler, published by The National Trust in association with Weidenfeld & Nicolson in 1981. A hardback survey of traditional British farm buildings and farming landscapes, arranged by region, with black and white photographs and text illustrations throughout its chapters.
The dust jacket shows a colour photograph of a whitewashed Lake District farmhouse and barn on the front, with a black and white image of a barn and church on the back. The jacket has some wear to the extremities, including rubbing and a small amount of loss at the spine ends.
Internally the book is illustrated with black and white photographs on cream paper. The endpaper shows foxing in the form of scattered brown spots, visible along the top edge and down the page. The text block otherwise appears sound from the sample pages shown.
