The Old Fox - Iain Adamson

The Old Fox by Iain Adamson, published by Frederick Muller Limited, 1963 (this copy reprinted 1963). A hardback biography of Gilbert Beyfus QC, with the pink and orange striped dust jacket bearing the title and a black band reading "A Life of Gilbert Beyfus Q.C."

The jacket shows considerable wear, with tears and chips along the edges and spine, a loss at the lower spine area, and scuffing and creasing across the surfaces. The rear panel carries publisher's advertisements for other titles. Internally, the text block paper is cream-toned with some light spotting visible on the page edges. The frontispiece area includes photographic plates of Beyfus.

The title page bears a signature reading "Iain Adamson" and a handwritten gift inscription dated Christmas 1964, addressed to "Aunty Mary" and signed by several names. A pencil note referencing "page 48" also appears on this leaf.
