The Personal History of Samuel Johnson - Christopher Hibbert

The Personal History of Samuel Johnson by Christopher Hibbert, published by Longman in 1971. A hardback biography, with a cover illustration of Samuel Johnson and the title in handwritten-style lettering.

This is an ex-library copy, bearing a Warley Public Libraries stamp on the title page, along with classification and accession numbers. The front free endpaper is torn, with a section missing, as shown in the photographs.

The dust jacket and boards show noticeable wear, including splitting and fraying along the spine ends and corners, with some loss to the covering material at the head and foot of the spine. The spine panel itself remains legible. Page edges have some foxing spots visible at the fore edge. The text block appears complete, with printed pages showing normal age toning consistent with the book's date.
