The Popular Cocker Spaniel - H. S. Lloyd

The Popular Cocker Spaniel by H. S. Lloyd, published by Popular Dogs Publishing Company Limited, fourth edition, 1939. This edition carries an introduction by J. M. Porter, with illustrations by Hay Hutchison. The book covers history, strains, pedigrees, breeding, kennel management, ailments, exhibition, show points and elementary training, with a list of winning dogs, as set out on the title page.

The cover is blue cloth with the title and author lettered in gilt on the front board, and lettering to the spine. The boards show some rubbing and light marking, with a scuff visible near the top edge of the front cover. The spine cloth has faded in places. The text block edges show foxing, and the pages photographed show scattered spotting consistent with age. Printed advertising for Benbow's Dog Mixture appears facing the title page.

Condition graded good, in keeping with the wear described above.
