The Saturday Book, number 26 in the annual series, edited by John Hadfield and published by Hutchinson & Company in 1966. The cover illustration shows a reclining classical figure with a cupid set within a heart motif, framed by roses and decorative ribbons, with matching artwork repeated on the slipcase.

Contents for this volume cover a wide range of subjects, including Valentine cards, the history of nudism, Victorian architecture, the painter James Pryde, and eccentrics in gardening, illustrated with period engravings and drawings throughout the sampled pages.

The book is housed in its original card slipcase, which bears the same cover design in miniature. The hardback boards appear bright and clean, with the gilt and coloured artwork on the dust wrapper well preserved. The pages shown are clean, with illustrations and text clearly printed on cream and tinted stock. No tears, stains or significant wear are visible in the photographs.
