The Story of the Coronation, covering King George VI and Queen Elizabeth's 1937 coronation, edited by Sir John Hammerton and published by The Amalgamated Press Ltd. The book is a complete historical and descriptive record with 330 illustrations and six colour art plates, including a plate of flags and emblems of the British Empire and a portrait of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth taken when they were Duke and Duchess of York.

The blue cloth cover has embossed lettering and a crown motif to the front, with gilt titling to the spine. The spine cloth has split and lifted at the front hinge, exposing the yellow backing and some loose threads, with wear and fraying at the corners. The rear board shows general rubbing. The text block edges are stained yellow, and the front cover has a few small marks. Pages seen are clean with clear black and white print and colour plates intact.
